Well another line up of fights is set up for tommorow and I think I speak for alot of mma fans when I say that ufc 108 could have compiled some very boring fights. The only two noteworthy fighters are Dos Santos and Rashad Evans. So since I care nothing about the other fights I am going to focus on these two. I am expecting big things from Dos Santos and I expect him to handle Yvel easily. Now in regards to Rashad Evans, things get a little interesting. Yes I am expecting a 2nd round knockout victory over Thiago Silva, and from a fans point lets hope that this does happen. Why? Mainly because I want to see Evans vs Rampage with the addition of possible title implications. Rumor has it that the winner of this fight gets a fight with my boy Rich Franklin with that winner taking on the rematch of Machida Shogun. Not to metion Chuck Liddell is going to get one more big fight in this division. Basically this division is about as easy to figure out as my Chem Lab Final with Faith...which boasted an impressive 44 outta 200 average score!!!!
My ultimate predictions for this division can be summed up similar to a game of clue...Shogun beats Machida, Rampage beats Evans, as much as this pains me to say it Franklin loses to Rampage and Shogun beats Rampage. Long story short Shogun becomes champion .
Also, a few thoughts regarding UFC 107. How scary does BJ Penn look. One look at Diego Sanchez's face says enough. Diego is going to have a hard time shaking off this defeat...mainly because he already had Penn beat in his own mind (YES!!!) only to be throughly man handeled (NO!!!). In my mind, 3 people deserve a shot at Penn and they are Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard, or Frankie Edgar. Do I think any of these 3 fighters can beat Penn...Florian has the best shot but we will not see Penn Florian 2 for a while. Also, I gotta talk about Frank Mir who sent Cheick Kongo flying across the ring with a falcon punch from hell. Mir is also put on about 15 pounds of pure muscle and he looks more like a linebacker than a fighter. His victory was impressive, but I find dissapointment in his victory. Where was this determination pre Brock Lesnar. He knew what he had to do to beat Brock and he simply did not do it. Granted his loss turned him into a more dominant fighter, but Brock Mir 2 has the possibility of never occuring. Brock is very ill and I do not see his return for quite sometime if ever. As much as I love Brock Lesnar, he was destined to loss to Mir for the good of the sport. Now I fear that we will never see these two throwdown it what would sure to be a great fist pumpin time.
More to come...and always remember Keep Your Hands Up
